Born in China, 1998, Duan has spent their formative years drifting between continents, collecting stories and identities along the way. They bring this open, mosaic-like way of life to every project -- without preconceptions, they intently explore the best techniques and medium for each concept. Duan finds their primary interests in animation, photography and design, while working closely with written text, performances, and sounds.
Duan's practice thrives in collaborations that allow the freedom to experiment. Their work explores issues of identity, immigration, and the anxiety of modern living, as well as their experience within the person of colour and queer community.
